Travel > Hawaii '07- The 50th State
There's few places on earth that have captivated my interest more than our 50th State. Maybe its the constant 72 degrees, maybe its the almost alway sunny climate, maybe its super diverse people or the varied microclimates all around the islands -- whenever I need to go recharge the battery, more often than not, I head off for the Hawaiian Islands. Over the last twenty years, I've visited Hawaii more times than I can count, and everytime I go - it feels almost like going home.
This time around I didn't do as much island hopping as usual - I spent my time on home base of Oahu. I did have a few days to spare and I picked up my camera and decided to go and practice some trick photography. I was there during the US Marine Core Christmas Toy for Tots parade --- I didn't know there were so many motorcycles in Hawaii. I decided to try some stop motion photography (get the motorcycle in focus while while blurring the background) worked out pretty good. Also did some slow shutter work on a handy garden fountain. Along with some walking around and laying by the pool on the Sheraton and on Waikiki beach, eating some good food, and of course having some Blue Hawaiians -- I got to really get in some much needed R&R.
Like always though, it was too short of a trip. Next year. |
